Barclays IFA New Season!!

Welcome back to a new season of coaching with the

Barclays IFA Premier Youth League

We are calling upon all boys & girls aged 7 to 14 to register your team.

Parents Corner

We would like to encourage your feedback and suggestions. We need your support to continually develop the most organised and effective football academy around. We are here for the long term. We plan to be coaching the kids well into their teens.

We want to grow together, so it's important that our goals and visions are shared. Beyond the technicalities of playing football, at Barclays IFA we aim to encourage social skills, discipline and confidence in all our young members. In subsequent editions, we will be providing the kids with tips on coping with the summer heat and the importance of a balanced diet.

We understand how your encouragement and support can make the difference between your child enjoying football or losing interest in the game. Our shared priority is to develop the children into mature, competent young people and help hone there football skills. We are not here to find the next Wayne Rooney! We are here to spread the joy that football brings to children and adults. Together we can make a great partnership.

Help keep us on time

As more and more children sign up to Barclays IFA for coaching, we kindly ask you to ensure players arrive on time, as this enables the coaches to provide a prompt and professional service. Please ensure all non-players (our little friends) do not enter the coaching area or be allowed to tamper with the equipment, as we have found this disrupts lessons and can be dangerous for them. We really appreciate the support of family members as this has a positive effect on the children taking part but we must ask parents to keep an eye on the little-uns, thanks.

Also, as we are now approaching the summer months dehydration can be a problem so please ensure your child takes on plenty of water during the sessions. The coaches will do their best but it always helps if mum or dad remind them. Thanks.

You are what you eat

We all know "You Are What You Eat" but it is important to remind the kids also. All foods can be part of a healthy balanced diet but some foods should be eaten more often than others. If you learn healthy eating habits as a child you will keep them for life! One of the best ways to maintain a healthy life style is to eat a balanced diet. Fruit and vegetables are brimming with fibre, plus a whole range of vitamins and minerals, and because they are low in calories, they make an important and healthy addition to any diet. Try and tempt the kids to have fruit juice for breakfast, fruit rather than chocolate as a snack and healthy portions of vegetables for dinner - we know it's easier said than done but let's keep trying.
