Off Field Management Profile
Darren Balls is the Director of Barclays IFA Sport. He became a shareholder in the company in 2006 and in 2007 became the majority shareholder. He led the restructuring of the company, which increased turnover and ultimately improved growth. He is now responsible for overall company operations and the general health of the business.
Darren is supported by a finance director, responsible for the finance functions of the business and for overall financial reporting. His priorities are to manage the growth of the business and provide the financial input into strategic corporate decisions and assist the business in resolving day to day financial issues. He is also supported by the Marketing Director, responsible for internal communications, public relations, marketing, brand and reputation management. His priorities are to develop and implement marketing strategies that promote the business and bring in new ideas, which focus on new and existing customers and give the company a competitive edge.
Together they are devoted to creating an academy that gives more children in the UAE the best chance to be part of football, to share in the enjoyment of the game, and to reach their potential as a footballer. Their ultimate aim is to provide an environment in which members can learn football skills and the positive attributes of a healthy lifestyle whilst developing friendships and social awareness to benefit the community as a whole.
