Barclays IFA Background
Football, soccer, fusbal, futbol, whatever you call it, Barclays International Football Academy is here to teach boys and girls aged 4-16 to speak the international language of the world. Training sessions are held every week at numerous locations in and around Dubai. Football is great for youngsters because it transcends all nationalities and barriers and helps bring children together.

The academy trains children from as young as four right up to 16, with the differing needs and requirements you'd expect from such a broad age range. Younger children learn football skills through a range of fun games. Four-year-olds start off with half-hour sessions, and there are frequent water breaks for all ages to put paid to any dehydration or overheating.
Steven Whittaker is the general manager of Barclays IFA. 'If you like football then this is the place where you can come, train together, enjoy the game and meet new friends,' he says of the academy. 'We keep the kids fit and healthy while we're at it too.'
